TRISKAIDEKA-FENCEATHON
from the Greek tris meaning "3", kai meaning "and", deka meaning "ten", and FENCE-A-THON meaning "an all night, fundraising, fencing marathon"

We dare ya to attend our thirteenth all-night-long celebration of fencing! It will benefit the educational programs of CFC and the Sisters Academy of Baltimore, an independent Catholic middle school for girls (grades 5–8) from low income neighborhoods in Baltimore, Maryland. Our lucky thirteenth FENCE-A-THON will be held in the gymnasium of the Liberty Christian School at 11303 Liberty Road in Owings Mills. Registration will be from 7-8 p.m. with fencing beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19th and continuing until 6 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20th. Highlights include electrical fencing in all three weapons (foil, saber, epee), swordplay demonstrations by members of the Mid-Atlantic Society for Historic Swordsmanship, door prizes, food/refreshments, music, and videos but no phobias. No need for luck because this is not a tournament. Fencers will compete for most bouts fenced and securing sponsors to make a donation for each bout fenced. Or just smash open their piggy banks and fence for fun. If you don't fence, you can still contribute by sponsoring a fencer, making a lump sum donation or volunteering to help with loading gear, transportation, set up, registration, or clean up. Food donations are welcome as well.
